PC settings

Outside of the game, we can also instruct player to delete Fortnite cache folders and verify installation in launcher after that:

  • Close Epic Games Launcher and Fortnite.
  • Go to C:\Users”Your computer name”\AppData\Local\FortniteGame and delete the contents of the folder. (if you have trouble with finding “AppData” folder, because it may be hidden, you can select View tab in Windows Explorer and check Hidden items checkmark in the system tray.)
  • To verify Fortnite installation, before you actually get into Fortnite, while you are looking at the launch button in Epic Games Launcher, you can select settings button on the bottom right of the Fortnite’s icon (there is a little cogwheel icon for you to click on).
  • This opens a drop-down menu with the option “Verify”.
  • Go ahead and select it, which will automatically start the installation files verification process.

Another solution for this would be Clean Windows Boot, which prevents resource hungry apps from opening on startup:

  • Right-click on the Taskbar and select Task Manager.
  • Go to Startup tab.
