Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 week 1 challenges – maps and guide
Chapter 3 Season 2 week 1 challenges are already available in Fortnite. When a new season comes out, all the challenges have one thing in common – they are almost always new and unexpected. And, as usual, there are enough challenges that might be hard, so you could probably use a guide or a map.
Be sure to also check the battle pass out, if you haven’t already or can’t get into the game.
Launch yourself 150 meters from a Siege Cannon
Siege Cannons are located at IO Airships and some random spots on the map. IO Airships, in turn, are located at most big named locations. They are also marked on the map, so you won’t need to search for them. Choose any Airship you like and fly to it.
The Siege Cannons are located on the IO Ariships’ sides. Use the cannon, aim and fire to launch yourself. Not flying too far away might be a good idea, because you might not complete the challenge in one take.
Use the Repair Torch to fix a vehicle
Every new season has its own new items, and most players like exploring those new things. One of the new items is the Repair Torch. It’s a gas burner used to repair broken vehicles. Like a med kit for machines.
To find it, loot gas stations. Fortunately, there are enough of them around the map.
Once you find a Repair Torch, select it in your inventory and go to the closest vehicle. If you’re still at a gas station, you should find one pretty quickly. Then, just point the Repair Torch at a broken car and behold the repair action.
If the vehicle isn’t broken, fix it by shooting or hitting it with your pickaxe a couple of times.
Quite a unique challenge for the very start of the season, but why not? Before you spend your bars, you need to get them somehow. You can get gold bars the old ways: by searching chests and completing bounties.
Bounty boards are still where they were on the map before:
To spend gold bars, buy items from vending machines or characters. I don’t know where all the characters are yet, but here’s where all the machines are:
Search chests on IO Airships
You have probably already noticed the IO Airships, especially if you’ve completed the Siege Cannon challenge. 5 location now have their own Airships, which can even be seen from the Battle Bus.
All you need to do is land on one of the Airships and search chests. The challenge will be completed when you search 3 chests.
Deal damage to IO Forces
IO Forces didn’t leave the map and are still controlling some locations. Good old Dr. Slone is also surrounded by good old IO guards, and they can also be found in other locations.
Here’s a map showing all the known IO Forces spawns for now. You can also visit the giant drill or IO Airships to find them.
Collect a Drum Shotgun and a Combat SMG in a single match
You need to find this season’s shotgun and SMG. You might have not seen them before, so here’s how they look:
Remember that you need to find both guns in a single match. They spawn in chests and on the ground, as usual. Searching in areas with IO chests might be a good option.
Mantle onto a ledge within 3 seconds of sprinting
Last season, sliding became the new mechanics, and now Fortnite has turned into a parkour simulator, whose mechanics are actively used by the Chapter 3 Season 2 week 1 challenges. You need to sprint in front of a wall, and press the jump button when you’re next to it. This way, you will climb the ledge and complete the challenge.
