Character challenges are not completing – how to fix the error?

The start of Chapter 2 Season 8 of Fortnite brought a lot of new content to the game – the cubes are now moving around the map, the giant UFO debris are all over the island, and the collections book has new fish and characters. Though, the characters are more interesting, because they are basically the way you level up your Battle Pass. Just a few completed challenges, and you will get enough XP to redeem some new rewards for your locker. However, there’s also a problem that some Fortnite players encounter – sometimes the challenges are just not working, and you can’t complete them because of that.

However, the in-game challenges often lag. You’ve probably already seen some reports like “The character’s challenges are not working, what do I do now?”, “the campfire isn’t working”, “deal damage after a haystack isn’t completing” and others. You might’ve faced this problem when trying to complete the Dark Jonesy campfire challenge, which may make you light a lot more campfires than just one.

The problem, however, isn’t about your gameplay – it’s an in-game bug. You can’t fix the “character challenges not being completed” / “Fortnite challenges not working” bug, so the only thing you can do about it is wait until the developers fix it. Sometimes the challenges only get completed on the 3rd, 4th or even the 5th time. So, if you want to level up as fast as possible, keep trying to complete the challenges even if you encounter this bug. Even if you don’t complete the challenge, you will still get some XP for the match.
