When does Fortnite Season 5 start?

Fortnite Season 5 began on July 12, 2018.

The Plot of Season 5

The idea of season 5 is a transition to the real world era after the destruction of certain groups of objects. Recall that the faults last season brought various objects off the island and added many realistic, subsequently transformed items for Battle Royal to the game..

Starting with the 5th season, the heroes’ progress is no longer limited to one season. Season 5 was supposed to end on September 25, but was extended to the 27th. In the last week, 400% of XP bonuses have been activated for all players.

Battle Pass

The battle pass for the 5th season was available for purchase at an item store for 950 B-bucks. Players who played for a free combat pass were provided with three weekly challenges. With these challenges, levels, and, accordingly, rewards were well-filled. The owners of Battle Pass were given the opportunity to perform both free (3) and paid (4) missions. In addition to the BP Challenges, additional daily tasks appeared, which added up to three. For the purchase of the Battle Pass, awards were also awarded (outfits, emotions, gliders, pickaxes).

Toys

Interactive with balls (beach, volleyball, basketball, golf) was added to the Royal battle and could be activated through the interaction button (often B). These “games” can be used in the game to perform activities such as tossing a beach ball and playing golf. Toys could be obtained as a reward for obtaining the level of Bsttle Pass.

Weapons and Items

Season 5 presented to our attention a lot of new items for the Royal Battle, starting with weapons and objects of movement in the inventory and ending with a new car. In the game appeared: maps, smg, compact smg, guided rocket launcher, double barrel shotgun,heavy sniper rifle, rift, shockwave grenade, grappler  and the legendary port-a-fortress.

Outfits of Season 5

In the 5th season, various thematic sets were presented for obtaining the BP levels: legendary, epic skins, picks, gliders, emotions, backpacks. Boot screens were also provided for completing Battle Pass tasks.

The following outfits were a reward for a combat pass and became unique:

What map changes will arrive with Fortnite Season 5?

A new desert biome has appeared – Paradise Palms and a golf course with adjacent buildings – Lazy Links. There were games – interaction with a golf ball and with a regular ball.

Teasers

The theme “Worlds Collide” was presented on the teaser of the game. Starting July 9, Epic Games released a daily series of teasers who hinted at the upcoming theme of the season. The theme “Worlds Collide” was revealed in the final teaser on July 11th.
